Greetings!
I wish to introduce you all the life of St. Elias Syrian Orthodox Church, Chennai, the first Syrian Christian congregation established in the land of St. Thomas, the blessed Martyr and the Apostle of Jesus Christ. Late Lamented Mor Julious Elias Metropolitan, the Patriarchal delegate founded this church in 1936, for fulfilling the spiritual needs of the people of Syrian Orthodox faith in Chennai and nearby places.
This Church situates at the heart of Chennai city (2 km away from central railway station & metro station) and presently is governed by His Eminence Mor Osthatheos Isaac, the Metropolitan of the Diocese of Mylapur, under the Universal Syrian Orthodox Church.
Considering the convenience of the IT professionals, nurses, students who live in the metro city, the service timings have been rescheduled as stated below.
On Sunday:
Morning prayers: 09:45 am
Holy Qurbono: 10:15 am.
Other days:
Call on Vicar for special prayers

Diocesan Council meeting of Mylapore Diocesan of Holy Jacobite Syrian Orthodox church held at Secunderabad Church
The Following Service Centres are functioning very well in our Diocese, with more members attending the Holy Qurbana and involving in various spiritual activities for the growth and development of our Diocese.

Holy Qurbana is conducted on every Sunday mornings. Foundation stone for a new Church building was laid by our Metropolitan on 11th March 2018 at Navarakulam Main Road, near JIPMER. The Church building is being constructed and donated by Mr. Ranjit Paul, S/o. Late Mr. K P Paul, Chennai as per the arrangement with Diocese and we hereby place on record our gratitude to him.
