Greetings!
I wish to introduce you all to the life of St. Elias Syrian Orthodox Simhasana Church, Chennai, the first congregation of Jacobite Syrian Church established in the land of St. Thomas, the blessed Martyr and the Apostle of Jesus Christ. Late Lamented Mor Julious Elias Metropolitan, the Patriarchal delegate founded this church in 1936 for fulfilling the spiritual needs of the people of Syrian Orthodox faith in Chennai and nearby places.
This Church is situated in the heart of Chennai city (2 km away from central railway station & metro station) and presently is overseen by His Eminence Mor Osthatheos Isaac, the Metropolitan of the Diocese of Mylapore under the Universal Syrian Orthodox Church.
Considering the convenience of the IT professionals, nurses, students who live in the metro city, the service timings have been rescheduled as stated below.

On Sunday:
Morning prayer: 10:30 AM
Holy Qurbono: 11:00 AM
Other days:
Call the Vicar for special prayers.
